big/our society? We need to be bilingual!

The language of government and it’s institutions – statutory, voluntary and private is the language of control, of business, of CONTRACTS.

The language of communities is different, based upon consensus, trust, free association, of RELATIONSHIPS.

We’ve been using a powerpoint presentation (with lots of thanks to Mike Green) that seeks to help politicians, policy ‘brokers’, and managers and professionals within the ‘serviceland’ institutions ‘unpack’ this idea and grapple with the reality that citizens and their associations ‘speak’ a different language and will not be coerced nor co-opted into delivering the government’s or any elite’s prescriptions.

Here it is!
